I was enjoying being pregnant up until a few days ago. I was thrilled that I was feeling well, only a bit tired, but overall very well. I must admit I was a bit curious on this thing called morning sickness as it a huge deal of being pregnant (it’s the one thing that makes everybody asume that you are), but I hate to vomit, so I wasn’t taking it too hard.

Then cue Wednesday: Oh, the hell of nausea! And god forbid it’s only in the morning! No, why call it morning sickness when you can call it whenever-you-are-awake sickness…? Seriously, it never ends! I’ve tried eating and drinking before getting up, I’ve tried ginger tea, I’ve tried eating the few precious minutes I’m not nauseated, and I’ve tried vomiting. The last one with the best effect which lasted about 30 minutes. The only thing I haven’t tried is camille tea, but no stores are open today here in Trysil. Eating is really a struggle, and the only reason I do it is cause I know I will get nauseus if I don’t. Not that I’d notice the difference…

I texted with Hanne-Lill, my best friend who has a son, and asked why the #%£@ we go through with this. And she said: “Because of the wonderful reward!”

I’m telling you big-headed shrimp-like baby-to-be, you’d better be nice to your momma when you get out!
