Vacation and decisions

We’re finally home after a week in Germany. We visited Christian’s parents and had a really good time. Emeline was just a delight, and her uncle and aunt, who got to see her for the first time, fell in love. The grandparents were ecstatic and told her how wonderful and clever and all that, she is. Good thing she doesn’t understand it all, or she’ll be full of herself ;)

She also got a tooth while we were in Germany :) I noticed she was a little grumpy a couple of days, but thought it was because we went shopping and she was bored in the stroller, but once she got something to chew on, she was fine. And one morning I just woke up and thought that it might be the teeth we had seen earlier because she was drooling so much, and there it was; A tiny sharp tooth.

I’ve been thinking A LOT about this thing that I’ve already posted about on my Norwegian website. I’m thinking of closing down this blog and start all over again — in Norwegian. New domain, new design, and only blog in Norwegian. I have a hard time doing it because 1) I’ve had this blog for a million years, 2) I will probably lose touch with most of the English blogging people, and that would be sad, 3) I’m not sure about which domain to choose. And it drives me nuts to think about it, but I think I have decided to go for it.

I think.

Daily life and vacation

Time flies so fast nowadays! I can’t believe my baby is almost six months already! Wow.

Emeline was just the happiest baby yesterday. She laughed and smiled all day  She also finally understood how to roll from back to stomach, so she’s doing it all the time. She even did a 60 degree turn in bed, then rolled around on her tummy and fell asleep on her face. Which freaked me out, so I had to turn her head.

Did I mention that we’re going to Germany on vacation? We’re gonna visit Husband’s parents, WITHOUT the dogs this time, and I’m so looking forward to it :) I also got a lot more holiday pay than I had thought, and although I need to save some of it up for December when I’ve asked for unpaid parental leave, I’ll have more than enough to spend on some much needed clothes! HUZZAH! Plus I’ve got some leftover Euros from the past vacations.

Here’s Emeline with her new sippy cup she got the other day. We thought she might learn how to drink from it since she doesn’t take a bottle, but I guess it’s easier to drink from a bottle after all. Anyway, she was super happy over getting it:

And this is from Thursday at the park :)

Status report.

So, after spending more than 60 000 NOK (approx. $12 000) on kitchen, couch, wardrobe, paint ++ are we now soon ready to decorate the living room. We have moved some of my boxes over to the apartment, but most of our things are still in the “old” apartment. Our days are now daytime jobs, working in the new apartment, sleep. At least now we can’t see some progress. The living room will be done by this week, and I’ll finally be able to play my Wii games that I bought in Germany (Harvest Moon and Fire Emblem). I’m looking forward to that day when we can unpack our things and start living as normal people again.

Germany was great. The dogs behaved and we even took them to Cologne for a day :) At the end of the day both dogs slept under our table at a bar on a Saturday night!

And so the days go by..

I’m starting to get that itch again. The desire to travel. We’re going to Germany this Easter, but it’s not like going to a new city, even though it is. We’re going to his parents’. I’ve met them before so that’s no big deal, but it feels kinda like going to another city in Norway, if you know what I mean. Anyway, we’re taking the dogs with us, so that’s gonna be exciting. Neither has been abroad before and Pippi has never even been on a plane.

I’m home on sick leave. Again. It’s my back this time. The doctor ordered me to take it easy for a couple of days and gave me pain killers that made me nauseous. Codein isn’t my friend, apparantly.

Back again.

I was in Maria and Norbert’s wedding in Germany last weekend and had such a blast! :D We had a bachelorette party on Thursday where we went out to a steak house and later to a bar. I had half a drink at the bar, but damn it was like drinking three or four drinks. Line and Hanne-Lill got super drunk and had a hard Friday. I managed, after several hours to get Line with me to Munich where we went shopping, but spent most of the time at McDonalds, drinking Coke. I was nauseus the whole trip, and I still don’t know why. I’m a little bit better now though, but not quite. Saturday was the wedding, and I must say, the best one I’ve been to. I only now realize just how boring Norwegian weddings are.

I guess I can let you know that my boyfriend’s name is Christian now, and he got a little bit inspired by the wedding and predicted that I probably was going to get married in 1-2 years from now.. I’m not convinced.

Came back to Norway yesterday and it’s finally, more or less, like it should be.. I stayed the entire evening over at Christian’s place yesterday and even slept over. It’s like we were before it went wrong the last time, so I’m trying to think that this time around is different.. He took care of Aurora while I was in Germany and she was thrilled to see me again. She’s so cute.
